Hey everyone, so I just transferred my build into the define r4. One major concern my h100i did not fit due to my motherboards (maximus impact mitx) digi+ power. So, I'm just considering air cooling over water. I'm having trouble finding a high performance cooler that will fit my board. Also I don't have low profile ram, Corsair Vengeance pro. I'm getting bad temps with the stock cooler and I don't want to drop some cash for a new mobo. I was looking at the be quiet dark rock 2, but I'm not sure if it will fit. I need your help guys. Thanks in advance :D

The H100i will mount in the front and reach the processor. And why would you put a Mini-ITX board in an ATX case? Makes me cringe. @BushidoBrown

Do you have the front as intake or exhaust?

my rad is mounted in the top and my front fans are intake...however I will be adding a second 240 when my ek block comes for my 290x, which is also yet to arrive (YAY!)

so you'll want the front to be an intake so your getting cooler air coming in

I recommend using pull so that its easier to clean your rad and fans (so you don't need to take them off....

putting in the front will be good for you cuz you can just pop out the entire thing out easily with the clip that holds the fan bracket in place....I like that about the R4

The board has a bunch of heat chokes and one of them intervenes with the top mounts

The irony (since you said you where coming from a prodigy).  You'll need like a 900D to make that happen then haha.  Hope the front monting works for you.

I would personally do it as exhaust and grab air using two filtered fans on the bottom of case (cool air to video card and rads) and one in rear ( filtered pushing in, cooling mobo, ram and vrm), and top just vented.  Less dust to rads too.

My Rigs (past and present)
