Hello there,

So yesterday I saw some dust on top of my computer, so I used my hand do get it off, bumping against the plug of my headphones that were plugged in to the front audio connector (Define R4, audio connector on top). Now when I plug my headphones in, a relatively small beeping noise comes in the left side of my headphones, which is not very noticable during gaming, but when not playing any sounds, it can get quite irritating. Is there a simple fix for this or do I have to replace the front audio connector? :S

Also, I know I can plug it in in the back, but my speakers are plugged in there, so I only plug my headphones in at the front, for convenience, it's quite stupid to always change the speakers and headphones at the back.

Thanks for the help!

To my knowledge, the noise is due to grounding problem in the circuit or an interference from an electrical component. So probably won't go away, until you replace the motherboard or the front panel portion.

Why don't you just grab a 3.5mm splitter and have the headphone+speaker plugged at the same time? or have it like me where I use a long extension cord up to my desk and I switch between headphone/speaker from there.

Are there (cheap) splitters with some kind of a switch to choose between the headphones or the speakers? I was used to my sound switching from speakers to headphones when I plugged headphones in, and it went back to speakers when I plugged my headphones out.
