Win 10 Audio distortion problem

this is my first post so bare with me. I was browsing youtube earlier today when my audio became distorted with the voice being overpowered by what ever background sound was being played. so i reinstalled my drivers and tried different ports/headsets but nothing seemed to work. the closest thing i could find for an answer online was to change my ide channel from pio to dma but i couldn't find anyway to achieve that through device manager. Any help that can be given would be appreciated,

ram 8 GB ddr4

1 Tb HDD

230 GB ssd

PS 800 watt

OS windows 10 64 bit
