So a friend asked  me if I could look at his laptop, So here I am after me getting stumped.

The laptop is an asus laptop, Nothing comes on when you hit the power button, No response from anything. The only two lights are the battery and another green light that has a light bulb on it. Suggestions?

EDIT: tried the take the battery out and hold the power button for a minute/reboot. No change. Its a asus x551m if that helps.

the battery could be dead = buy new battery

power cord adapter may be broken = buy new power cord adapter

Anyway of testing this without buying both of these things? Both appear to be in good condition.

take it apart to see if you can see anything wrong visible i think its a mother board issue

I just finished that, Didn't see anything out of the ordinary, no signs of burns or lose connections.

power button is broken = replace and repair power button

Don't think that'd be the problem, and if it was not sure where I would get another power button?
