download 'battery life' from the app store and see what it says. check battery capacity, charge state, Mah charge rate

try plugging it into your computer

try restarting the phone itself

backup all of your data, fast. first thing i would do if all of that happened. then i would let it die and then try to charge it. 

do this part last, point of no return.

Take your iPhone to a reputable repair shop and ask them to service the charge port. Lint build up like crazy in them. IF you attempt to clean it out yourself, make sure you dont hit the gold connectors on the bottom. Hit them, and your charge port will have to be swapped out, which could be $59 and up.
