PC died during game

Hello,

 

I finally build my own computer about a month back and it just died while playing Overwatch.

Here's the spec list:

Sorry it's a deepcool 240ex, not 360.

 

OS is Windows 8 pro.

 

I tried removing GPU, all harddrives except SSD for booting. All peripherals except mouse & keyboard. Cleared CMOS. Swapped memory sticks & tried booting with only one. Seems i'm at a loss :(

EDIT: Just tried to boot it from my gf's SSD from her pc, same issue.

 

In summary: the pc just shut itself down while playing a game. When I try to boot it now, the motherboard lights up as you can see on the pictures. The CPU cooler flashes for one instant and then nothing happens. No fans start spinning. No beep codes or any error code from the Mobo are heard/visible.

 

Anyone any idea's?

Might be a dead CPU or memory. Try moving and/or swapping memory. Also why is you memory in the slot farthest away?

Reseat the ram in the correct slot(I'm betting the first one in from CPU Socket).

 

Have you tried turning it off completely and then unplugging it from the wall, giving it a few to just chill and then plug back in and try again?

 

Make sure the 24Pin ATX Power cable is all the way in(I speak from experience).

Hello,

 

Yeah the picture is maybe a bit silly since we were in the middle of testing ram when i took the pic. I just tried each ram stick separately in every single slot. So that's 8 tests, nothing. I just tried replugging the 24 pin power and pressed it back in firmly. Still turn on and instantly turn off behaviour. 

 

So we know it shouldn't be the RAM, Mobo seems fine. Can we eliminate the PSU already? I have no way of replacing a CPU/PSU atm without asking a friend for his pc. Possibly the CPU cooler?

Turn it off unplug a let sit for a few then try again.(If you haven't already) If not I wouldn't eliminate anything until you've tested it.

 

You could try unplugging each fan and then trying to boot. (I don't have a reason. Its just better to eliminate everything before you buy)

connected a 400 watt psu from Be Quiet from a friend and it booted up like a charm. Apparently i was unaware more people experience issues with Corsair PSU's being... bad. Sadly. I'm ordering a new one.
