so, about a week ago, i was testing a beta shaderpack on minecraft for someone. my pc shut down, and refused to boot. I was hoping it was just a power flicker, but thought it was weird because the light didn't flicker.

I troubleshooted everything, tried with the graphics card first, since it uses the most power, pc booted fine. I put the card back in and unplugged everything except the SSD, graphics card and essentials (cpu fan, case fans). still didn't boot

I think my 980 ti is dead, I got it used and the seller claimed that it only had 9 months use prior, i've had it for 2 months, and i didn't get a warranty with it

What happens when I plug the graphics card in is:

PC boots, monitor stays off for about 30 seconds, then it turns on and stays black until i shut down

USB ports turn on, then off once the screen turns off (my mouse lights up for a few seconds then turns off, same with the media lights on my keyboard)

Graphics card itself: fans turn on, light pulses(the default setting of when it used to work), then after a few seconds everything turns off, fans, light.. but the screen stays black

the card is a 980 ti asus Strix 6gb, i have a corsair cx600m and an i5 4460 with 24GB ddr3-1600 ram.. is there a way i can get this card to work temporarily for 3 months until i can afford to get it replaced?

EDIT: i should also note that i'm using an ASrock h97 Anniversary, and i've been using the card for 2 months

does it work if the GPU isn't in the PC?

forgot to mention: i'm using an ASRock h97 anniversary

What happens if you plug your display into onboard graphics, and put your 980TI in. does it boot that way?
