Windows 7 Update stuck

 I have recently done a clean install of windows 7 32bit x86 and the first thing i did was to check for updates. When i clicked in the "check for updates" button, it kept on saying "checking for updates". I left windows update to run for over 1 hour and nothing happened. I have also attempted to reset windows update settings following the instructions from this link (https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/971058) twice. Does anyone have any idea of what could be wrong???

yeah don't worry

in their infinite wisdom, MS is fucking everyone with W7 - some ppl reported wait time of day+ for updates to complete

There are numerous ways to try to address this issue - some of them work better than others. Here's a ton of them:

This is rlly weird because i have a 64bit windows 7 pc and windows update works fine

if you install it fresh, I guarantee you it will do the exact same thing

it started about 1y ago when W10 free upgrade went live

This fixed it for me and my friend. It still took a minute or two to find updates, but it actually did find them.
