I use a 10.1" Asus Transformer Infinity with keyboard dock and for me that is perfect, I can play games on it with no problems what so ever and the keyboard is just awesome, I can easily write documents on it and just disconnect it from the keyboard to use it as a normal tablet.

As for portability it is amazing with the keyboard dock to carry it around.

I would really like to see more android tablets with keyboard docks and also games that support the keyboard.

As for 7" tablets I have played around with my friends Nexus 7 a lot and it is really as awesome as the reviews says it is.

It is perfect for people with small hands like myself (I have Linus hands ^^).

edit: Totally forgot about the question... As for my personal experience I would go with 10".

I have an iPad 2 and a Nexus 7. The Nexus 7 is great for the train to college and college work, and the iPad is better for home use when I'm not on the PC.
I have the Nexus 7 as well for school and home use. I love the size and it's not too big to get in the way etc :D
