Which build is better?

Go to solution Solved by malon,

I highly recommend the i5 system, it has the superior cpu, even if you cant overclock it because of higher singlecore performance, both intel and amd motherboards are nothing special, nor is the ram or storage, on the gpu and if im correct psu side the amd system will perform better/be better, and also the gtx 1050 will not be heavely, if at all bottlenecked by the fx6300.

i personaly would go for the intel system, sell the gtx950 and get a rx470 or gtx1050(ti) and also replace the psu since i dont even know pulse and a short google search resulted in a clear stay away.

If you dont want to upgrade soon and just want tto play at good settings get the amd system, if you dont mind a litle extra homework(or asking here for help/opinions) get the intel build.

PC Specs: This is for €550

-Core i5-4690 3.50 GHz S1150 6mb (Intel)
-8gb 1866MHz DDR3 Non-Ecc Cl9 Dimm (Kit of 2) Xnp Predator. (Kingston)
-500gb Deskstar Sala 6gbs 32mb 7200Rpm 3.5 (Hard Drive)(Toshiba)
-Neos White/Red.(BitFenix)(Case)
-H81M-E34 Mitherboard lga 1150 Intel H81 DDR3 VGA USB.(MSI)
-Pulse 750W 120mm Silent Red Fan Sala PFC PSU. (BestValue)
-Geforce GTX 950 Gaming 2gb GDDR5 Twin Frozr V Fan Pcle 3.0. (Msi)
-RG-100 Led Gaming Keyboard.(Keyboard)
-300mbs Mini Wireless N Usb Adapter.(Router)

I was planning to build my own rig and this was going to be the specs:

this is for €640

-AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz(4.1 turbo) 6 core <--- will be overclocking to max 4.2GHz can be reached

-8gb 1866Mhz DDR3 Kingston ram

-1TB barracuda storage

-Game Max GM-One Knight Midi Red – USB 3.0

-Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P AMD 970

-500w Aerocool integrator

-Geforce GTX 1050 2gb

how will this preform? This is also a pre owned rig so i cannot change anything on it unless im upgrading in future thanks to those for getting back!

thats very informitive thank you very much i was thinking going AMD since i dont really want the extra work this early into gaming on pc also would it be worth upgrading the FX-6300 to something like the FX-9590? after a year or two?

It isnt worth to upgrade to the 9590, it draws a massive 220wattt on its own and it needs some of the beefiest coolers and a realy expensive high quality mobo to not fry your powerphases, an upgrade to a 8320 is a possebility but also not recomended since that cpu will also be around 6 years old by then.( unless you can find one preowned for like 25-30 dollars), also the last intel cpu the 83xx line of amd was realy competative with was the 3000 i5 series.

personaly the amd build will be great for current modern games at 1080p with settings around medium to high depending on the games, where as the intel build, with an investment of an aproximate 100 to 120 dollars if you can sell the gtx950 for a nice price and get a good quality 500wattish psu from evga seasonic or corsair and a above mentioned rx470/ gtx1050(ti) at a fair price, be better of in the bit more cpu heavy games and more future games.

sorry for the long reply, i also recomend hearing from other members on their opinions and experiences.

Peace out

i love long replies shows you know what your talking about and more info is better for me to learn but i think ill go for the AMD build so i can also have it in parts and build the pc myself, i also dont like some of the aftermarket things on the i5 and its not really a gaming based cpu in my opinion i also feel the GTX 1050 will do better than the GTX 950. Thanks for letting me know i dont mind changing the mobo in time going foward with a 8320.

Well a huge amount of gamers use intel i5 cpu's mainly because they are somewhat of a sweetspot for modern games in performance where amd is more the budget oriented in the current state of amd vs intel.

Eitherway i gave the best objective info i could and i hope you can enjoy pc gaming nomather what build you go with.

with love and care, me
