970 SLI Question

I have a question, I have a MSI 970 Gaming X right now, and i was wondering if I could SLI another 970 even if it wasn't MSI branded but of course a 970. Any answers appreciated

Using 180 or later graphics drivers, NVIDIA graphics cards from different manufacturers can be used together in an SLI configuration. For example, a GeForce XXXGT from manufacturer ABC can be matched with a GeForce XXXGT from manufacturer XYZ.

as long as it has the same amount of memory and same specs, yes you can.

Well you can but it's not recommended but it will work dont forget that they should have the same specs overall

Recommended? not really.

 

Only do this if you can get the second one for very cheap. SLI support can really suck depending on the game, and new drivers/game updates frequently break support so you gotta wait for another patch.

Yes you can. The brand does not matter, since they usually only differ in aesthetics and possibly clock speed. Although, it might be visually unappealing, so try to find the same card if aesthetics bother you.
