I've been looking at SFF cases more and more, and since I've done builds in bigger cases before I'm definitely going this way for my next build.

Something like the Gigabyte Brix Gaming UHD with a 1080 would have been perfect, hopefully they release something like that at CES! Can't get much smaller than 2.6L.

I've had some problems finding cases that would meet my needs, and I'm wondering if I've missed any.

These are the ones I've looked at:

  • NCase M1
  • DAN Case A4
    Only one front USB
  • NFC S4 Mini
No front i/o, external PSU is restrictive
  • Silverstone FT03 Mini
    No front i/o
  • Silverstone RZ01/RZ02
    Plastic, poor access to ports
  • Fractal Design Node 202
    Plastic(?) build
  • Corsair Bulldog
Can't be stood straight up, built in board sucks
  • Dr Zaber Sentry
Front USB ports are too close together
  • NZXT Manta
Large, not a fan of the style

The fellows who made the NCase M1 are also working on another case that will be similar in style to what I want that will potentially have a custom PSU. I was thinking about waiting for that, however he's been working on it for quite a while and still no release.

Requirements:

  • mITX, slim tower or shoebox form factor
  • Fits full sized graphics cards
  • 2 front USB 3.0 ports, with enough spacing to fit a card reader and flash drive at the same time
  • No boy racer cases
  • Aluminium finish
  • Preferably no window
  • Preferably no external PSUs
  • Less than $450

I'd also consider a slim m-ATX case, but I don't think there are any nearly as small as an mITX case.

Are there any cases out there that I happened to miss?

As much as I like the design, I'm not a fan of the open air chassis.

Silverstone SG13. Small shoebox. The solid front version has a fake aluminium finish that looks nice but kills airflow if you want to use the front fan, where the mesh version helps a lot but doesn't look as neat. No window. Will take nvidia reference blower (FE) GFX but no longer than that. Takes an ATX PSU internally if not too long. Not much room for CPU cooler, you can use 120mm rad on front but note earlier comment about airflow.

Ah yes, how could I forget the SG13. I thought about that one before, but it's more cube than shoebox so it'd take up more room on the desk. I don't really OC so I wouldn't need the liquid cooling.

It's a solid choice for a small case, but not really the quality level I'm looking for.

Haha, that's actually the case I have for my current PC :) As much as I love it, especially for the price, I'm looking for something much smaller.

I like the Master Case cases, but it's a little too big for my tastes. If I was getting a tower though, it'd likely be a Pro 5!

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Well sorry sir cant help u on that :(

Haha, I know, I can be quite picky when it comes to cases. There's a few pretty cool prototype cases over on HardForum, but sadly I don't think they're too close to release.

This one is super small, so it can only take a Mini card...since I was thinking of getting a 1080 it kind of kills it, but it's only 6.7L!

This one is actually really neat. Has an mATX board, and you can use 2 GPU's. I'd probably run a sound card I have in the second slot (I have one my dad bought me years ago and I feel bad if I don't include it in a build). He's working on some revisions, changed the orientation of the USB ports, and possibly made solid side panels.

Super compact too at 11.9L.

This one is kind of tempting, but again, only smaller GPUs. I'd also worry about heat.
