Hi everyone

I was on pcpartpicker the other day and when it came to choose that all important cpu, I got confused.

The Intel i5 6400 has a clock speed of 2.7 ghz and has four cores. All of this for about $150-170 US.

Then I found the AMD FX 8350 with 6 cores and has 3.9 ghz that can be overclocked further. This was also cheaper at $120.

So my question is which is worth buying for the money? Is the AMD fx 8350 out of date?

Please help

thanks

i5 6400 is better. Although it has fewer cores, fewer more powerful cores beat more less powerful cores @Turtleloverdyl

For gaming, definitely the 6400. the 8350 is less efficient and has slower cycles  (i think). wait for intels kaby lake and AMD Zen to come out, and you might see some difference
