My machine was going through a windows update over night. When I woke up to the windows logo stuck on the screen. Then it went to the recovery screen and couldn't find any recovery points. I retried and it couldn't find any again.

Then I tried to use a recovery flash drive which got stuck on the windows logo and wouldn't go past it unless I unplugged the flash drive which then gave a blue screen with the error 0x00000e9 I/O error.

That's the only way windows gives any other message other than a black screen or the windows logo.

Windows tried to boot off of two different flash drives and the SSD. Tried unplugging everything but HDMI cable and a flash drive and unplugging SSD and HDD. Tried different usb ports.

SATA cables were checked and propererly seated. also unseated the cpu and checked for any dust or damage then reseated it back in.

computer posts and goes past BIOS screen but then gets stuck on windows.

CMOS battery is dead and new one comes in a week or so.

Specs :

MB Biostar A960D+

Tried with a flash drive. it gets stuck on the windows logo...

used two different flash drives. also use different USB ports. it goes in and tries to boot but gets stuck on the windows logo. even with every storage but USB disconnected.

Not windows recovery, I meant a full reinstall. Boot from a Windows installation USB drive.

I did both. Recovery and I also made a windows installation on the USB. Both got stuck on the windows logo.

Maybe the installation USB drive was corrupt. Try making a new USB drive using the Windows Media Creation Tool and maybe this will work...

I also did that. i used two different USBs to ensure one of them wasn't corrupting itself. between both creations of windows the pc i used restarted and works perfectly fine. (Both computers are genuine copies of windows.)

Do all of the the drives show up in the BIOS?
