IC Diamond Thermal Compound HELP

Hi I just recently acquired some diamond thermal compound and I hear that it is better than using Arctic Silver based compounds for heat dissapation. I like to ask anyone has tried to use Diamond Thermal Compound before.

If so please reply, I received the compound as well as a manual stating I should use a pea size amount of compound, wouldn't that be a bit too much for a laptop processor I'm trying to upgrade?

Or should i use the grain of rice or line method to use the thermal compound for this occasion as I'm not fully aware of how effective diamond thermal compound might be. I was hoping someone can shed some light as to whether or not I should use it. Thanks.

all thermal compounds today are just about the same, they all do the same job, yes some may be better than others, one you got is good enough, only way is for you to try it and if you dont like then you can change.. personal preference really... look for anti conductive, this way if you happen to spill on your motherboard, it shouldnt short it out, but still wipe it off..

it all depends how big the cpu is, the laptops ive done are small so only need a very little bit

Thanks for the replies, from what I hear the compound is very good, and I am planning to use it on a Dell XPS M1330 Laptop since the laptop is giving me some overheating issues, I hope it would work for the better with the diamond compound.

I've also spoken to the supplier and they said use a pea size amount rather than using the grain of rice or line method and he has shown me some pictures as to why the pea size method works best.
