No post, one beep. Help!

Hey Guys!

Some time ago I bought this mother board ( H8QME-2+) and I can't get it to post. I get one beep and nothing more. The fans spin up and the cpus do produce heat. According to the manual one beep means "Refresh (Ready to power up)", does this mean I have to jump another couple pins or do something else to boot it up? All help is appreciated! Thanks :)

Do you know the cpu+ram good?

quad cpu, had the same problem with my last ones so I replaced them all, still not working so I doubt it's that. And I have tested the RAM and also used known working RAM

then its probably a bad board.

Also replaced the board. Managed to get a replacement after I had the same problem with the last one. Another bad one?

That was what I was thinking. I'm not sure if they are compatible. I have been told they are fine.

Also what are you doing with a old quad socket system?

Oh and because I wanted to build a somewhat powerful cheap personal server.

Seems like the wrong ram, i think you need ddr3 ecc

Hope you don't mind paying for power. 

 

Id probably stop with this and get something like a dell r710 or a dual 1366 system. These are normally faster aswell.

the memory is not ECC, is that the problem?
