Premeir Pro Borked?

A solution was to open the file in Windows Movie Maker and export it. then drop it back in to PP. Hope that helps anyone!

I have some video Files i just recorded with Xsplit. I pop them into the Premeir Pro Project and one file displays as a normal .mp4 would. Video above, audio below, all good. but the other file only appears purple, no sound bar. 

Yes I have imported it as a source, not just drag and drop, I know it does that sometimes, but its never been purple. 

Yes i've restarted PP and my PC as well. 

 

Looking at the file from the file browser it plays audio just fine! what the heck is going on and how can I fix it?
