Portable DAC/AMP

hi,

I just bought a pair of Sennheiser HD6 mix and I need a portable AMD/DAC. I've been looking at a Fiio K1 but since the impedence of the HD6's is 150 Ohm so that won't work.

any suggestions? I am looking for something in the 30-50$  range.

well it does but not to it's full potential because it only supports headphones up to 100 ohms

Saying that an amp will only drive up to X ohms is nonsense. I really wish Fiio would knock it the fuck off, but given most of their products are mediocre who really cares.

 

The reason is, you can't determine how "hard" a headphone is to drive just from the impedance. Take the Sennheisers here - sure they are 150 ohm impedance (nominal), but they also have a sensitivity of 112 db/V. That's insanely high and they will get plenty loud from just about any source.
