The Matrix is Asus's highest end AMD Graphics Card iirc.

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.

Doesn't mean its the best choice for everybody.

Correct. Not everyone has 1 extra PCI-E expansion slot in their PC.

In my opinion the Direct CU II Cooler is the ugliest cooler I have ever seen. So I'm voting for matrix, just off of aesthetics.

My opinion on the DCUII is just reverse, especially considering the Matrix.

I prefer blower style coolers, like the HIS iceQ

Blower cooler? No thanks, not after the debacle that was the Radeon 4870X2.

In your opinion what one is better?

I don't want to sound condescending, but the ASUS ROG Matrix series is ALWAYS the best of any GPU.  What I mean is that the Matrix version of any GPU is always the best you can get.  That doesn't mean the cooling is the best or anything, its just they pick the highest binned chips after heavy testing by themselves and combine that with good cooling and great features.  The Matrix cards overclock like beasts and do not disappoint.

The Matrix is a better card but personally would go with the DCU II since I won't be doing high overclocks on it if I had this cooler on my card.

DirectCU II all the way! Matrix is just a ULTRA-MEGA-GIGA-ÜBER-GAMER triple slot break-your-motherboard gimmick that gives you ~2% more advantage and a freakin' color-changing Matrix letters! :) (which is nice tbh but still...gimmick). You will not notice the difference between those two in real time work and gaming or in best cases maybe 2-3%!
