Hi,

My holiday are coming up, and I would like to learn custom sleeve cables. I been watching and reading alot but it still rather confusing.
I am going to buy a EVGA 600-750W P2.

Questions:
1) What cable type of cable? Most sites say use 18AWG, so I am sticking to it, but there are different types like UL1007 ,UL3239 etc?

2) Only female terminals required for PSU, graphics card etc power?
3) is there anything I should look out for when sleeve from EVGA? I understand that different PSU are different in their wiring.

For tools, I have most of them (due to school), except the crimping tool.

I am getting my stuff from china (taobao) as it is rather cheap. There are alot of different Female terminals too, it is a little hard to find even with google translate.
This is probably what i am getting: (any advise welcome if I get the wrong thing)

Hey!

Most 18AWG wire will be fine. Look for an O/D o <2.3mm though, that way, you wont damage your crimping tool. Be careful buying wire from overseas, I've had a lot of rubbish stuff, with varying degrees of quality, its always better to buy it locally if you can, if there are any issues, its easy to remedy.

You only need female crimps for all the major bits, like 24, 8 pin etc.

Which PSU are you using? I can help you out if needs be. In regards to the crimping tool, there is only one, MDPC-X one ;)

Thats a decent PSU to make cables for then, there is plenty of info on OCN in regards to the pinout :)

For cables usually the most common is UL1007 18AWG, that has PVC insulation and rated for 300V.

If your interested I have a guide here that goes over Sleeving and stuff regarding PSU and Terminal Pinouts:
