Wait a bit probably. Supposedly the port is a mess.

Rigtht now, I'd check the RAM/VRAM/CPU/GPU usage to see what's the cause of the crash -- if any of those even are the cause.

How to fix issue:

Step 1) Return infinite warfare to steam

Step 2) Buy Battlefield 1

Step 3) ...

Step 4) Profit

Cod and Battlefield are two different types of games.
Some people prefer smaller maps smaller teams and smaller rounds for that jump in and jump out play.
This whole Battlefield and cod argument is pretty stupid.
It's like arguing over a car racing game vs a motorbike racing game.

I'd still return it, activision fucked up majorly on cod iw, the small pc player base is split in half between microsoft (store/physical copies) and steam they can't play with each other.

I do agree they fucked it up, going off the steam reviews that is But I would say if the OP wants something new and close to cod, then Titanfall 2 would probably a better match for him than BF1.
Kinda feel sorry for respawn, EA screwed them big time.

I was gonna get this years Cod myself purely for the remaster, but I think it's inevitable that they will release a standalone.
They would make money on it after all.

Yea for sure, Titanfall 2 would probably be a good option, and yea I dunno what EA was thinking releasing it right around the same time with CoD and BF that's just dumb.  Poor respawn.

I sent a refund request. I have been a nothing but cod player but I think i'm going to transition to battlefield 1 and titanfall 2. The maps on infinite warfare leave much to be desired, just bad.
