SAS or SATA

would you recommend sas over sata drives? I think I made a huge mistake in purchasing 4x 6Tb HGST SATA drives (ULTRASTAR 7K6000 6000GB 7200RPM SATA 512E ULTRA ISE 128MB Cache) and later on upon browsing there is this SAS drive (ULTRASTAR 7K6000 6000GB 7200RPM SAS 512E ULTRA ISE 128MB Cache) which cost about the same as the SATA drives. I cant find reviews on this particular SAS drive from HGST. Anyone here tried HGST SAS drives?

btw, the 4kn SAS models are 100$ more expensive than the 512e SAS counterpart. I dont know the differences...

SAS drives need a special controller to operate. Sure they have more theoretical throughput of 12Gb/s you generally won't be able to take advantage of that regardless of SATA or SAS since they are mechanical drives.
