QoS setup help

_SNOWMAN_
Go to solution Solved by Lurick,

So you can define a Policer and give it a name. Put in the max speed and min speed you want to allow the wireless connection to have. For conform action you want to pass the traffic and for non-conforming action you want to drop the traffic. Once you set that up then you should be able to go into the classification tab and select the policer you just created and apply that to the wireless interface.

I have been trying to figure this out for too long. I am trying to limit wireless speeds on a second SSID. wl0.2 should be the second im guessing. Im not sure how to set this up. My router is a Comtrend Nexuslink 3112u. Its what my ISP gave me.  Any help appreciated and feel free to explain what any of this is if you feel like it

You want to be on the Policer tab, if you can post a screenshot of that it would be helpful.

Conforming action has either Null or DSCP Mark as options

Alright, so you can leave the Conforming action as Null, that should allow it to pass.

Just to be safe I would put something in the Rate Limit field as well and after that you should be good.

Is there a Default option or AF11?

What does the QoS Queue section look like? You might have to set something up there so it will appear on the Classification page.

Hmm, there should be a wl0.2&Key24&Pre8 on the Class Queue selection but I don't see it.

Ok I think I have it working. What would you suggest putting in Committed Burst Size (bytes)? If I put in 1000, speedtest say "Network Issues". 100,000 works but im not sure exactly what its changing

Burst Size is the max speed during quick movement of files, the max speed you want something to burst up to. So you can set that to like 5000 or so.

Awesome. Thanks so much. I never would have started with Policer. You made my weekend 9_9
