I bought myself a custom made cpu with this specs:

-intel core i5-3570 processor

-Gigabyte B75m-D3V motherboard

-transcend 1333 mhz 2x4gb ram

-Zotac GTX 760 AMP (2gb DDR5)

-Toshiba 2TB HDD

-Corsair CX600m power supply

-Tecware F3 blue usb3.0 chasis

And i can't seem to get a connection to my monitor. I am not sure if it is my monitor or the cpu itself. Please help!!

I don't see anything here that would be troubling, try plugging the display into the motherboard's iGPU and see if the boot up screen appears on the display when it's first powered on.

Yes, it's 2871 as in the year 2871. I traveled all this way, back in time, just to help you. And you thought your mama lied when she said you were special-_-

Are you plugging your monitor into your GPU or motherboard? Also, make sure you have the correct monitor source selected.

Snip

check to make sure you have your cables hooked up to the correct source (likely your GPU). Then trying connecting it to the other source (in this case your motherboard) make sure you have iGPU display turned on in the BIOS, or disconnect your GPU during this time to ensure your computer knows to use the motherboard graphics signal.

VGA which is the blue one....

with a GPU installed, your computer will automatically default to wanting to use the ports on the GPU (the horizontal ones near the middle of your computer). you will need to remove that GPU, or tell your BIOS to use the motherboard outputs instead.

So using a converter does not use my gpu at all.....

no... using your motherboard VGA port will mean your GPU is useless (unless you use it for some compute task). Using a converter to make it so that you CAN plug it into your GPU suddenly makes your GPU very useful and able to do what it is supposed to do.
