are you using 4K, 1440P or 1080P, because if you're using 180p, get a 280x instead

1080p, wouldn't a 290x be better for the longer run?

not really. they are very similar architecture, 290x is just optimized for higher resolutions

What wattage RM series PSU are you getting? 650W should be more than enough with a lot of headroom. Everything else looks good. You may want to wait until 31st for the 290 to come out.

No point in getting an i7. An i5 will game just as well. Also, it doesn't sound like you're doing any serious editing if you do it at all. 

No ram?

What resolution are you gaming at? I reckon the 290x is overkill for anything less than 1440p.
