Pcie for 1060

Hello everyone. I just bought a gtx 1060. Sorry if this is a stupid question. I was just wondering if i can use the 6 pin in the 6+2 8pin in my psu and disregard the 2 pin?

yea that works fine the card won't pull more than it needs so the psu wont supply more than it needs.

Yup you can totally do that. 6+2's are designed intentionally for that reason-- to be simultaneously compatible with 6 or 8 pin GPU connections.
