Replacement radiator fans for GPU?

so i installed the EVGA 1070 Hybrid kit on my 1070 today, but the included fan runs at full speed and is quite annoying. i want to replace it but of course i need a pretty efficient but quiet 120mm replacement fans. anyone have recommendations (no Noctuas please)?

Does the hybrid kit not connect to the PWM fan header that you can manage through software? thats a shame.

Linus' new video and other people on this forum show the Corsair series of silent fans are quite popular; they also have ones with LEDs if you're into that sort of thing. I dont think they have Noctua's 6 year warranty but you dont want me mentioning Noctua :P

the cable for the fans is extremely short. gonna need cable extensions. or i can just get new fans

and nah, don't want LED fans. what about the be quiet! pure wings 2? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA68V21E0613&ignorebbr=1

What header are you powering the fan off of?

PW2's are quiet but not optimal for a rad.

that fan is only 3-pin and its 19Db. You can get quieter. I like to look for PWM fans with specs that list its minimum RPM. You should prob also look for a SP fan thats made for radiators.

You can get a 4-pin cable extender cheaper than a new fan.

the pump adapter from the GPU

what would be a good fan for a rad?

What pump adapter are you referring to?

The rad you're using has a pretty high fpi and would benefit from a fan with better static pressure.

That being said, you should lower your fans speed if you find it too loud at 100%..

the included fan with the kit is 3-pin.

there's an extension leading out of the pump. for some reason it's 2-pin whereas the fan itself is 3-pin

i can't control the radiator fan. that's why i want to change it

The 3rd pin is for detecting rpm. That isn't needed if it's drawing the information from the pump and just sharing the power for the fan.

What are you powering the pump from?

not sure what the kit is using, but there's a follow-up cable going into the fan header on the GPU PCB that apparently powers the blower fan

what about these phanteks fans? advertised as radiator fans http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835709037&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker, LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Have you tried setting a custom fan curve with software like Msi Afterburner?

PH-F120MP's are good but not as quiet as PW2's.

Most quiet fans are expected to be run at lower speeds anyway. If your current fan is pinned at 100%, you should figure out how to lower it in either case.

the fan curve only controls the blower fan. not the radiator fan

so which is it? you mentioned earlier i needed good static pressure fans, so the phanteks is fine. but the pure wings 2 is quieter.

well i can just plug it into one of the fan headers on my mobo.

You can do the same with the stock fan.

Some good fans for the rad would include

Hyperborea: http://pcpartpicker.com/product/qKvRsY/rosewill-case-fan-rocf11004

NF-P12: http://pcpartpicker.com/product/sKzv6h/noctua-case-fan-nfp121300

NF-F12: http://pcpartpicker.com/product/b2vRsY/noctua-case-fan-nff12pwm

SW3: http://pcpartpicker.com/product/kwgPxr/be-quiet-bl064-505-cfm-120mm-fan-bl064

PW2's wouldn't be optimal but are viable and are well priced at $9. http://pcpartpicker.com/product/fkCwrH/be-quiet-case-fan-bl046

thank you for the links. but i don't want to spend too much on one fan. so either the PW2, the hyperboreas or the ph-f120mp

I haven't directly compared the PH-F120MP to the Hyperborea but they seem to be similar when used on a rad. Either would be fine. If you don't mind sacrificing some cooling for lower noise, PW2's are also viable.
