Hi!

When I record my microphone on my PC, there is a loud buzz/static noise. When I tried the microphone on my laptop with the same settings, that static noise was gone.

My friend said that my cheap PSU could be the problem, so should I buy a new one?

PC Specs:

PSU: Corsair VS650

Mobo: ASRock P67 pro3

Graphics: Evga GTX 580

Microphone: Superlux 205U

If you have your laptop charging, will there be a buzzing noise? It might be a ground loop issue of some sort.

Is your pc connected into a grounded outlet?

If you live in a old house, the ground might also be connected to neutral instead of earth, and that might cause problems as well.

Oh, your psu is craptastic. If you can, try with a better psu. Bad capasitors might induce ripple which causes all kinds of problems.

PC is connected to a outlet without a ground. Laptop was charging in the same outlet and the buzz was gone.

I guess I will just try a new PSU then. Thanks!
