Fellow computer enthusiasts,

This Christmas I will be building my personal computer with a budget of around €1000.(I live in The Netherlands) The main task for this computer would be gaming/normal things like browsing and schoolwork. I usually play games like CS:GO but would also like to play some singleplayer games like witcher 3 or mp-games like GTA V.

Peripherals

Monitor: I will be using 2 ASUS VN247H monitors wich are 75hz have a 1ms response time and are 1080p. So I wont be trying to game in 4K.(this is excluded for the budget but just for information)

Sound: I am buying my friends ATHM50X where I will put a modmic 4.0 on.(excluded from budget)

Keyboard and mouse: still need to be decided open for suggestion. (excluded from budget)

Parts:

I already put together a little something, which I would love some feedback on. And of course I am open for suggestions if you guys create a complete new system.

Design: I would love a clean looking pc without LED lights, which is also quite silent. Cases I love are cases like FD R5 or NZXT S340/H440.

Case: NZXT S340 WHITE

CPU: INTEL CORE i5-6500(boxed)

MOBO:  GIGABYTE GA-B150M-D3H (not really sure about this one I find a good budget mobo hard to find)

GPU:  ASUS TURBO-GTX1060-6G

RAM: KINGSTON HYPERx FURY HX246C15FBK2/16

HDD: WD BLUE 1TB

SSD:  CRUCIAL MX300 275GB

PSU: CORSAIR RM550X

CPU COOLER: ARTIC FREEZER i32

If you have any questions or feedback this would be much appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

GRVTY

Graphicscard Design is ur choice after all, doesnt impact performance too much, go for the looks.

I would go with that Build, the 6700k is a solid choice and with that motherboard you can even do slight overclocking.
You can still Upgrade, or throw a second gpu in ur system later on, if the rx 480 isnt enough. But upgrading the CPU always is a bigger hit later on, since it does impact performance, but not by that many for upgrading from an i5 to an i7 later on. That's why i would always go with the highest cpu possible and spend the rest of the money on the gpu.

You can game on the i7 for atleast the next 5 years straight, without needing to upgrade.

The RX480 will still have PLENTY of power to run all titles on 1080p. Just take a look at the benchmarks. It's an Price to performance killer.

The build that you have looks great already!

I can really recommend the GTX 1060 for 1080p gaming, it performs great.

Only thing that I would suggest is a dedicated/not stock cooler for the CPU since the stock one isn't going to do so well under heavy load.

If you would like to go for air cooling then this cooler is a great choise: https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/294328/cooler-master-hyper-212-evo/specificaties/

Or if you would like an All-in-one (AIO) liquid/water cooler then this one is also a good choice: https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/416208/cooler-master-nepton-240m/specificaties/

EDIT: I'am really stupid, didn't see you had a cooler already.... :$

Considering in my country unlike the US the 480 is just as expensive as the 1060. (both about 300€) Would you still recommend the 480 over the 1060 if you know this?

On the CPU part I get what you mean, to spend a little more on it for a i7 straight away. I really like your list.

Thanks, after a little bit of digging into the 1060 I figured it would do the job for me since i am only playing in 1080p. I did put a aftermarket cpu cooler in the list above aswell, I think you might overlooked it :P

If they cost the same, go ahead and get the 1060. Its slightly better overall and i hate AMD's drivers.
Glad you understood my garbage text x) Kinda sleepy today.

I will just put the list into a site which is more compatible with the Dutch market, because I feel like it would be at least 100€ more expensive here. Nothing wrong with your text though :D

The 6700k comes with a stock cooler, i believe and game with that until you got the money to get a good aftermarket one and maybe wait a little bit with grabbing a hard drive, since ur able to put some games on the ssd.
Just my thoughts, you dont have to buy everything together, no one will lock ur pc after u built it the first time :P

Its not that I dont want to spend 100 euros more, if the quality improves at least just as much as the price :P But considering I will be buying a keyboard and mouse as well as spending 100€ on the ATHM50X and ModMic There is eventually a stop to the amount I want to spend.
