Hey all,

I want to add some more memory to my PC, I currently have this ram kit "G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-14900CL10D-16GBXL (2x8GB) 16GB DDR3"

I have an ASUS H97-Pro Gamer Mobo and an i7-4790K.

What are the rules for adding more? Do I have to get the same kit? That particular kit is proving difficult to track down after over a year since purchasing it.

" You can use different brands as long as they are the same type, bus speed, timing, latency, whether they are EEC or non-EEC etc.source

So This is what I have at the moment

DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900)

Timing 10-11-10-30

Cas Latency 10

Voltage 1.5V

The closest I found (in G-Skill in my country)

DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

Timing 10-10-10-30

Cas Latency 10

Voltage 1.5V

My motherboard only supports speeds up to 1600 anyway, so would they would still be incompatible due to the timing?
