Hello,

I recently built a new computer and need some help regarding the fan setup. Here are some of the the specs:

Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro M Acrylic

Fans: 3 Corsair Air Series AF140 LED Quiet Edition High Airflow Fan Amazon Link. 2 Intake on Front and 1 exhaust on the back.

2 Phanteks 140mm PH-F140SP    Amazon Link  on top of case as exhaust

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Amazon Link

GPU: MSI GeForce 1070 Gaming Z New Egg Link

Mother Board: MSI Z170A Gaming M5 Amazon Link

I am open to other fan setup suggestions. The mother board only supports 3 case fans. I have one of the two remaining fans hooked up to the second CPU fan header. This leaves one fan disconnected. I have been doing some research on how to fix this problem but quickly got confused and could use your suggestions. Here are some of the options that I found:

1. Fan Cable Splitter - JBtek All Black Sleeved PWM Fan Splitter Cable 1 to 2 Converter

2. Simple Fan Hub - https://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-System-Cables-Black-CPF04/dp/B00VNW556I/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1477965120&sr=1-3&keywords=computer+fan+splitter

3. More Robust Fan Hub - https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PWM-Fan-Controller-PH-PWHUB_01/dp/B00M0R05WE/ref=sr_1_9?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1477965260&sr=1-9&keywords=fan+hub or https://www.amazon.com/Nzxt-AC-GRDP2-M1-Digital-Controller-connector/dp/B0156YBCKG/ref=sr_1_10?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1477965286&sr=1-10&keywords=fan+hub

4. Fan Controller - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002L16OMO/ref=twister_B00CNY4NTK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 or https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KJGYLNM/ref=twister_B00CNY4NTK?_encoding=UTF8&th=1

It seems like the easiest and cheapest way to hook up the last case fan and properly hook up the one that is currently on the second CPU fan header would to be simply to get the splitter cable. What advantages are there to spending a little bit more money on a hub or a controller? It seems like the MSI utilities will do a good job at controlling the fan speeds on their own. 20161031_190459.jpg

No benefit if you have PWM fans, you can buy fan splitters for PWM. I dont think your fans are PWM. Doesn't the Phanteks case come with a fan controller?

I checked out their website, there is a PWM hub but it's an optional upgrade.  The Enthoo Pro (full tower version) comes with a fan hub as standard.

I like the idea of Phanteks hub because it controls 3-pin fans through the motherboards cpu fan header. i dont have one myself i have the p400s which has a silly manual switch. silentpcreview has instructions to make your own fan speed switch if money is a problem:

The only 4pin pwm fan you're running is the stock BladeMaster on your heatsink.

Leave that plugged into either cpu_fan1 or 2.

The Phanteks pwm hub would probably make the most sense for controlling the rest of your fans by taking in a pwm signal from your other cpu_fan header.
