Hello Linustechtips Community,

I would like to build my own budget computer as a new project. For that project, I have a 250$ budget and I am looking for components to buy.

Now I was wanting to know, if you guys had some ideas on which components I should buy that could suit my budget.

Also, I have some components spare, but I am not sure if I can/should reuse them:

1. Processor: i5 650 (and mother board, but it is very hold)

2. Ram: 8gb DDR3

3. 500gb Harddrive

4. HD 6450 Video Card (probably worthless)

I am grateful for any help. Thank you very much for your attention.

Have a great week!

Buy a new/used cpu and mobo, then a new/used gpu. Ram and hdd are good if they are working.

The cpu is fine if the motherboard supports overclocking, the ram and hdd are fine as well. The gpu however is pretty bad. these components will compliment the rest while keeping near your budget. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/NMktWX
