I expect to have about $500 available to me at the end of this year.

my current plan is to get an RX 470 and 1 TB of SSD storage. (I'm sick of micro-managing files and slowdowns)

(4x 240GB SSDs)

Does anyone have any other suggestions? I mainly play overwatch and world of tanks, at this point in time.

I am also considering getting titanfall 2.

Why not go for a 1070 plus a cheaper HHD?

because I'm pretty happy with my current situation graphically (I would like a small upgrade, but a 1070 would be overkill and likely bottlenecked by my CPU). I'm mostly frustrated with my storage situation right now, it currently takes a full 10 minutes for my PC to be usable from power on.

You could get a 2tb HHD then move files to that from the ssds and upgrade the CPU mobo ram.

Again, I am good, thank you. I do not want a 2TB HDD and an SSD. I simply want one large SSD so I don't have to give a damn about where I put my files. The RX-470 would simply be an upgrade to my GPU with the leftover cash.

It really seems like you are completely misinterpreting what I hope to get out of this upgrade.

you are fine with your gpu as you said. plus a 1070 would be complete overkill for you system and your 1100T will be the bottleneck. I do not know about the raid setup with the 4 ssds imo i would just get a larger single drive like the  1tb Samsung 850 evo.

Need a budget headphone for under 100$? Sennheiser HD 558 Headphones

Got a Skylake CPU (k) Here is a guide to OC it!

I know I asked for other suggestions, but I mean suggestions that would contribute to the same goal.

like this one exactly.

I was thinking about a single large SSD, yes, but would sata be a bottleneck for them?

no? your mobo supports 6gb/s sata III I would not go with a m.2 because the 850 will preform better than a m.2 because it will use one of the sata ports. if your motherboard supported nvme than hands down get an nvme drive. you will be fine with a 850

also consider if you get 4 good 250gb ssd like the 850 you will spend close to $380. where the 1tb version is only $300. I mean if you want to go for a raid sure! but imo I think you are better off with one single larger drive and save a few bucks and put it towards like a 1060 rather a 470

right.

So if that's $300, then what GPU would you recommend for $200?

Gigabyte Windforce 1060 6GB - $214.99 (-$259 - $20MIR - $25 MPGAMER16 promo code and Masterpass checkout)

if you "can" get the 1060 go for it.

browse the buildapcsale sub reddit

if you go with a 500gb ssd, which really is enough tbh, you could get a 1060 6gb
