Lower temps and lower fps

So my graphics card recently dropped about 10C for no reason and now the performance isn't really holding up either, getting barely 70 frames on bf1 on medium where as before i got like 100 on high, no other settings changed

Mobo : MSI Gaming 3 H97 
Graphics Card : ASUS Strix GTX 970 4GB 
RAM : 8GB From Corsair 
CPU : Intel i7 4770 3.9 Ghz 
Harddrives/SSD's : Kingston SSDNOW 120GB, WD Blue 1TB and Samsung 850 Evo 240gb 
PsU : Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 550W PSU 
Case : Fractal Design Define R5 Windows Black

Maybe a driver update that reset the graphics card to it's original overclock?

gaining 30ish fps on higher settings with an overclock seems strange though, not sure what the cause might be

well some tiny windows defender updates but they shouldn't do that much with performance
