Heyo Tech Tips community, I'm tossing the final parts together on a new build and want to be sure I'm not getting the wrong RAM. By wrong I mean that ASUS's product page seems to be a bit misleading in terms of compatibility. I am getting the ASUS z170 Sabertooth S (https://goo.gl/Dva8H6) and would love to pair it with some higher speed memory from corsair ( CMU16GX4M2C3200C16 ) or (https://goo.gl/yGgGvq).

My question is, will this motherboard support this memory speed or will I have to downgrade to a lower speed version of this kit.

Any help would be Apriciated but an exact answer would be awesome! Thanks :)

Yep your good. Z170 chipset supports ddr4 all speeds, just be sure to enable XMP.

refer to your motherboards compatibility list on Asus.com

Whilst generally it will work just fine, at higher speed frequency, unvalidated memory may become unstable. Validation is basically just a question of it being 100% "in sync" vs 98% "in sync"
