Games stuttering

Big games like battlefield 1 and GTA V stutter and freeze a lot. I have an i7 3770 and a gtx 1060 so I think it might be my ram or hard drive causing it. I've got 8GB of ram but its about 5years old and my hard drive is 1-2years old but was very cheap. What could be causing it?

Id clean install windows. It helped with my stuttering in league. But it may also be the b word.

check cpu usage. those are some of the more cpu intensive games, and its possible youre maxing your cpu (which does cause stuttering).
