The 7700K Specs

I don't know if what I heard is true, and I also don't expect it to be but;

Wil the 7700K have:

- a Base Clock of 4.2

- a Boost Clock of 4.5

 

Thus should I get it over the 6800K if I'm going to Photo, Video and 3D edit?

1) Yes

2) No, more cores are better for those types of applications.

Right now a 6700k is 5-10% faster in games and 20-30% slower in renders (fewer but faster threads) if the 7700k increases the OC by 300MHz on the same voltage then that might widen/narrow these margins by another ~5%. Either one will make a killer rig.

The 6800K will most likely perform better in that type of applications. You can OC the 6800K to over 4 GHz usually.

6800K it shall be then, I'm going for an AIO anyway and maybe a Custom Loop later on
