Windows 8, software and drivers

Go to solution Solved by GoodBytes,

No painful driver. You plug it and Windows 7/8 will take care of everything. It knows that you have an SSD, and the OS will adapt itself. All you need to do is the usual hardware driver download/install like you always do with a new Windows install.

Windows 8 Start Screen is worth a try. Takes a month (average) to get used to it.. you may not like it at first as you are learning it, but one you pass that learning curve, I think you'll like it, like many that decided to give it a serious shot. The main reason is that it's more powerful despite its look.

So when i get my ssd i will be installing Windows 7 or 8 i am leaning to 8 (will be turning metro ui off startisback) and i am wondering is there any painful driver support?

Oh. Windows 8.1 improves things on the Start Screen, with new options and abilities. It's more balanced with laptop/desktop/tablet.

Is it perfect? No. I'll be honest. But it's something that is clear is something Microsoft is/will balance in every future version of the OS. Much like how the Start Menu started back in 95. But improving at a much faster paste, which is good.
