Will PC10666 memory work with PC10600?

Go to solution Solved by Glenwing,

10600 and 10666 are the same, it's just a difference in notation conventions whether to round down or not.  Some vendors do, some vendors don't.  Kinda weird, but that's how it is.

Hi guys,

I want to upgrade the ram in my system but I'm not sure about a detail for the choice of ram.

I currently have a Core i7 920 on an Asus P6T with this ram (TR3X6G1333C9): http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4282847&CatId=4327

I'm looking to upgrade to 12Gb (add 6Gb) and I have 3 available slots with triple channel available.

I was looking for some "not too fancy" ram and I found some PC10600 sticks. Would those work with the PC10666 I currently have? (Yes I know that it's not a good idea to mix ram but I would keep the same clock).

Thanks in advance
