Hello.

I currently work at an office store as an IT. The server is located in a very difficult location and I need a way to remotely control and view it. The program must be light weight. What program can I use that's free?

Specs:

AMD Athlon x2 4800

3GB RAM

Windows XP

Well if you had windows xp pro you might be able to use remote desktop. I'm honestly not sure if xp has it though. There is always TeamViewer of course. That's free to an extent. There isn't a trial time as far as I know but if they suspect you of using it for commercial use then they'll block it. How they detect that though Idk.

So many to choose from ...

What are the security controls that you are REQUIRED to wrap around your remote control capability?   That will help in choosing most appropriate.  (and the correct answer is NOT "none").

For WinXP. look at VNC and simple RDP as a starting point.
