Hey all, so I don't frequently post my own topics in the troubleshooting section here but I have a problem that's absolutely baffling me. So for a span of the past few months my mothers Iphone 5s has been randomly crashing with increasing frequency. when it crashes the lcd freezes and slowly fades out then the phone reboots. I have done a lot of research and cannot find any instances of people having this problem. The phone is about 2 years old, Running the latest realease of iOS 10, and the battery was recently replaced. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

this is a power related issue, either the battery is fucked or the power circuitry is fucked.

Well I completely replaced the battery and it didn't fix the problem so if your theory is correct then its the power circuitry

As they always say, reset you device! :P

I'm doubtful that this is a software related issue as its less of a crash and more of a forced power cycle

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011IZFDKM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Thats the part I bought however the problem predates the new battery. I replaced the battery august of this year in an attempt to remedy the problem.

Will never hurt to try. You can always back up all of your data onto iCloud and reset it then load all the data back onto the phone without doing much. It's a very simple process, might take some time though.

I misread titles/posts way too often--correct me if I don't.

Okay. You could've told me that you have already tried it.

No I have not tried it yet on this phone, I meant that I'm no stranger to troubleshooting iphones so I know how to backup and reset a phone.

only thing left to try is replacing the battery again or a full system reset. you can go to an expensive repair shop but honestly thats just not worth the money.

Well I think I'm gonna go ahead and try resetting it and if that doesn't work then probably just go ahead and replace the phone
