What do you mean by college use? Also, the motherboard/CPU only supports dual channel RAM, meaning a quad channel kit would work but only in two sets of dual channel.

I mean, you don't really need to get 2 separate SSDs. What's your budget?

I would say you don't need 16GB of RAM, but having it is nice. 

What is your college degree going to be in?

Don't get the 32GB SSD. Just put your OS on the 250GB drive.

32GB SSD's are useless.  You're better off just using the 250GB drive.  Especially given how cheap 250-500GB SSD's have become.
