In general, the 6700k would be better for gaming as most games wouldn't use the extra 2 cores.

I would go from any Z170A motherboard from Gigabyte or MSI.

As for RAM, it doesn't matter that much. That said, I use Gskill ripjaws V series as it's well priced and performs the same as the other brands.

And yup, the 212 evo will be fine for cooling. Don't expect to be able to overclock them very high though.

Either way, I would wait for kaby lake if your planning on a new build. It won't be too long and apparently it's as large as a 15% performance increase and clocked .2GHZ higher then previous gens.

When is that supposed to come out?

Any Z170 with DDR4 would be good and any 2400MHz RAM would be good. 212 evo will be enough but you won't be able to overclock too much

Wouldn't I want the fastest ram I could get get like 3200MHz or is there not much of a difference

Intel said Kaby Lake will come out by the end of the year. If you don't need a PC now, I'd say a 15% performance increase with a higher clockspeed is worth it. 7700k will probally be the same price as the 6700k. Even the 4790k is the same price as the 6700k 2 years later.

As for ram speed, doesn't really matter. You won't notice it much, and it doesn't effect FPS atall.
