As for graphics cards with the same chipset.

I usually consider them in this order:

0. PRICE !!!

1. manufacture reputation

2. Factory clock speeds

3. Cooler and cooler color to match my build

=======================Current Build=======================

Motherboard: ASUS Z170-AR

CPU: i5-6600k @ 4.5Ghz Overclocked

GPU: Gigabyte GTX980 @ 1200 Mhz Oveclocked GPU boost 1400Mhz

Memory: Corsair Dominator 16Gb @ 3200 Mhz

Cooler: NZXT Kraken x61

Storage: Corsair Force GS 128Gb + WD2TB + Seagate 1TB

PSU: Corsair HX650

Lighting: NZXT HUE+ with extension

Display: LG 34' Ultrawide 3440x1440

The Super Jetstream is 200W with 1847MHz (irrelevant) boost out of the box ands huge ass cooler.

The Gaming X is 240W and a 1822MHz boost(which is also totally irrelevant). That is a considerably higher TDP and the cooler is way slimmer.
From measurements I have seen I would expect the Super Jetream to be quieter and OC-capability is pretty much silicon lottery dependant so ... I would take the Jetream for an extra 50€ and a quieter operation though I advise you to look for Gainward cards since the only difference from them to Palit is looks and a 1 YEAR LONGER WARRANTY ;)  no joke

I have a Gainward 1080 Phoenix pretty much for these reasons.

Why not

  1. Price/performance
  2. Noise/performance
  3. Manufacturer
  4. Looks

Yes sir, that is clearly coming from a more experienced part picker. But for us noobs and even some techhead youtube channels doing "Themed builds" color of the cooler dominates everything.

Also is noise to performance really a issue now, because I think all gpu run really loud if you up the fan speed (except water cooled ones)

So you say to go for the Palit then which is 50€ cheaper than MSi?

I am saying that i would hav a hard time justifying the extra cost of the Gaming X and I am asking you to consider Gainward since hey and palit are litterally one company and their GPUs only differ in shrouds and a slight bit - totally irrelevant - bit of fan design. This makes Gainward GPUs even more attractive than Palit's WHEN available and if you can deal with the more ugly shrouds of Gainward. Sparcly red is just so meh nowadays. Lookily you don't see it in the dark and the RGB is a nice substitute if I may call it that.
I don't care to much about looks - got 1 noctua poop-brown fan and 2 white Fractal ones that came with the case, a black cpu fan on a scythe mugen 3 all set on a bue accented with a brown PCB mobo and a red GPU but in the dark everyting is dark except the blue CPU load indications on the mobo and the RGB zone on the side of the GPU cooler ... Don'T ask me about style. I know how it works but I just barely care. (Yes, I invested in a sidepanel with window after the fact ... becasue that is me). Enough of my life story.
