Hey people,

I was in the middle of playing Battlefield 1 multiplayer then my computer suddenly froze. I then turned off my computer. When I turn it on and log in, it crashes with the clock watchdog timeout error. What is wrong? Please tell me.

Thank,

chicagobears185

Notes:

I have overclocked my i7 6700k to 4.6 ghz about a year ago, did a stress test for 24 hours and it was fine.

I have played GTA V with the overclock just fine.

put that exact error message into google, click on the first link, and it will take you to what it means.

Basically it means that your current clockspeeds are unstable and are missing commands (your CPU had a command to process, and it missed the command, causing it to timeout, at least that is my understanding of it). I had this blue screen a fair amount of times when trying to dial in my 6700k on an Asus Z170-A when i had things turned up too high.

To fix this you should turn down your clocks a bit, lower your CPU temperatures a bit, or increase your voltages a bit. That will fix your problem. As for you having just run a stress test, its important to use differing stress test programs as different ones often stress different areas of your CPU. Something that could be happening in BF 1 may not be happening in your stress tests or in your other games, which is why BF 1 is the only thing that crashes for you. It could also be something as simple as BF 1 being a new game and it has some of its own bugs to work out still (although my money would be on the former).
