Help! I'm water cooling my pc and the pump won't power up. The psu is supplying power. Some of the fans light up, and we can get them to do so. Right now, the pump is an Alphacool VPP655 pwm pump.

Theory 1- the pwm connector is in the wrong place.

Solution 1- that doesn't matter. Pwm does nothing until the system is powered up.

Theory 2- the power connector is bad.

Result 2- entirely possible. LED fan is powered by same cord pump is connected to.

Theory 3- pump is dead.

Result 3- please God no. That's the worst case scenario.

Please, I'm on my knees, help a brother out.

Due to their design, many newer motherboards are no longer compatible with this pump. This can be recognized in that the pump runs at full rotational speed or at a constant minimal speed, despite the motherboard requiring a higher/lower speed, or in that the pump does not start up at all. This problem can be solved by:

1) no longer connecting the signal cable to the motherboard, so the pump runs at full rotational speed

2) using adapter cable  and connecting the pump to a fan control

3)   You can force the pump to run at 100% using the method shown here (at your risk only )

I hope it helps
