Hello, I was recently thinking about creating a water cooled system and I want to know what type of radiators I will need. My plan is to water cool the i7 5960X, 64GB RAM, 4x980Ti GPUs, and the asus Rampage 5 edition 10 MoBo. What would you recommend for a radiator configuration? Thanks in advance for the answers. Also I aim to overclock the sh*t out of the CPU and GPUs.

First question is do you already have those components?

Main PC CPU: 7700K, MOBO: Asus Strix, GPU: Aorus Extreme 3080, PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 750, RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB Storage: 970 Evo 1tb

Lounge PC CPU: 4790K MOBO: Asus Hero VII GPU: EVGA 3060 Ti PSU: Corsair RM650 RAM: Kingston HyperX 16gb Storage: 970 Evo 1TB

dude, if your looking at spending that kind of money those are not the components you should be looking at. for that budget you can go i7 6900k with 2 sli 1080s.

I am going for the quad card aesthetic  tho. I like the looks of that and on reddit the majority of people said 4 980 Ti GPUs would beat 2 1080s on synthetic benchmarks (my form of entertainment)

Are you planning to overclcock? And how far are you planning on pushing the components?

Well if you're keen on that setup then I'd say 2 60mm 480's.

as far as I can until they start crashing.

I'd recommend at least 120mm of radiator for every OC'ed component. Also depends on how thick the rads are. So I'd guess at least 600mm of medium thickness rad, more if you want better overclocks.

thats actually less than I was thinking. I saw for 3 titan X (Maxwell) cards JayzTwoCents had a 560 so I thought I would need much more than that.

so for this I might just possibly max out all possible radiator mounting points. I think the SMA8 Caselabs has enough room, I was going to use a 900D but I dont think all of it fits.

That's the LTT strategy, but it would work

Jay had a separate loop for his GPUs and CPU so that they wouldn't add temperature to the same loop, keeping temps lower.

Thats actually what im doing. CPU+MoBo+RAM in one loop and a seperate only GPU loop. That was my plan to not get color change like jay did. but then I switched my plan to use pure black pastel fluid so it wont matter.

Well his system is overkill as you can get. Just copy his build then.

black can turn colors (usually a burnt chocolate color) ph and heat contribute highly to color changes.

hence the change from the HL skinnies to the ek thicker variants on jays rig (red mist as well). i'm still not sure he won't have the issue return. if i recall, when he was on the alpha UT rads, he didn't have color shifting, only until the HL nemesis (under watted rads and low airflow af fans for quietness)
