I have a fx 9370 8core cpu, 2 xfx 7870 gpus in crossfire, 16gb 4 channel corsair vengeance performance ram and a 1tb sshd running Windows 7 64bit home premium I believe?

NOW THE PROBLEM:

I notice a lot of games run completely fine but sometime experience twitching, and some games don't even load up I just get a black screen and then it starts flickering like crazy but I still get sound? I can run fallout 4 in ultra at a solid 35fps and in high it's 60fps plus, but I have recently deleted everything off off my hdd and done a re install of Windows but now games freeze more and I feel it's got slower, I've tried defrag and nothing, tried updating everything up to date and still no better, would Windows 10 and a Samsung 750 or 850 Evo ssd make it better? Or any other solutions?

What is your GPU usage(and temperatures) during games that flicker and malfunction? What are you using to cool the CPU? Can you also check the vRAM usage of your 7870s during the flickering?

I'm not sure on how to check the usage but I use speccy to check the cooling and my cousin doesn't go above 60 playing games in ultra and same with my gpus, I have the courage on a cooler master 240v rad and my gpus have universal waterblocks and are on a 360 ocool rad loop, i recently separated them as the cpu used to be in that loop but I bought the 240v rad because it kept getting too hot and shutting down the PC, the flickering I experience is on multiplayer like in black ops 3 but I managed to get it to stop by messing with the setting for ages wether that's my gpu settings or the game or my internet idk I always get moderate nat type but doing a internet test I get really good results

Use MSI Afterburner to check your GPU usage and vRAM usage. You can also set it to display within fullscreen games to monitor stats during gaming scenes, including clock speeds on the GPU.

Hmmmz, to it's no to high OC, due to wear and tear of your GPU's. I've got no idea then. But I think it's a software problem somewhere.

That's what I'm thinking, also why I'm wondering about getting a ssd and Windows 10, but my PC used to be fine before I re installed Windows and deleted everything and I stupidly didn't create a backup disk -_-

After my re install it didn't delete all my files and I have a folder called Windows old under the new Windows folder and it was 600gb so I deleted it, wether that has something to do with it i don't know

I'm not convinced. Windows.old is safe to remove, and is automatically generated during non-clean installs. My guess here is that you did not delete and re-create the partition during re-installation, hence the Windows.old folder.

This is what I got for running fallout 4 in high setting for about 5 mins, I also experienced a flickering bar every now and then about 2/3 of the way down my monitor, I also have no idea how to use msi afterburner

Can you show vRAM usage as well?
