Need help with build

Viperan

Hi all.

I'm in the process of building a new computer and i need help with what components suite me best. Mostly the computer will be used for video editing, 3d modelling and some gaming. I already have the monitors keyboard and mouse. So i need help with the internals, vid card, mobo, ram, cpu, psu and hard drives. :)

My budget is 1200-1800 dollars.

Appreciate all the help you can give me :)

Pretty good suggestion, but with that budget why not go for a GTX 1070 preferably one from Zotac?

Forgot to add: Depends on the resolution of the monitor though. If you own a 1080p 60Hz monitor then you won't get any use out of a 1070. If its 1440p or a higher refresh rate such as 144Hz then it might be a good investment to go for the next tier.

The GTX 1070 Zotac AMP! Extreme. It looks a lot cooler the heatsink is very good and quiet. You have to watch out though. I am not sure if the card will fit in the suggested case because it is very large.

Will i need a card like that for 1440p tho if its only for editing? I can understand for gaming but thats not really a priority.

You won't need a fast gpu for editing, you mainly want cpu power.

No. For CPU bound tasks any GPU will be fine. As for running 1440p on desktop or in these applications, I don't think it will affect you at all.  I just thought you might want the best experience with your budget.

In general you will have to watch out which cables come with your psu to ensure that you will have all the necessary connectors for the GPU otherwise you might have to buy adapters (for example, from a few molex connectors to an 8-pin).
