Mushkin drives

Anyone ever used mushkin ssd drives before? Trying to decide between samsung 850 series and mushkin. I've heard good things about the samsung drive, but mushkin is cheaper just not sure if it's reliable

You can't go wrong with Samsung SSDs for sure.

A 512gb samsung drive goes for about 280 right now in canada. same size mushkin reactor goes for about 200

Both companies are good, they both produce very good quality storage drives.

You wont be able to tell the difference in performance, but by going with Samsung, it will totally last longer and also will be more reliable.

Yeah thought so. Right now, I plan on getting a 250gb ssd for the OS and other programs, and a 1TB HDD for storage. But a friend of mine suggested I go with a higher mushkin ssd (480 - 1tb) as they will be cheaper. This, however, puts the price above what I want to spend for the build

Get a Samsung 840/850 EVO and get a Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB for performance.

Storage isn't really the place you want to spend most of your money on

The WD Black is about $95 for 1tb. I was thinking of going with the seagate barracuda 1tb which is about $60.

Do you care about the speed that games load, or the time maps load in games?

There is yeah, the Barracuda is similiar to the WD Blue. Watch this video and then we'll continue on

Also if you don't really care about the life of the SSD or reliability go with any mushkin one
